Living in Virginia, next to Washington, D.C., has its perks and drawbacks. The city’s proximity to the nation’s capital means that residents get to enjoy many of the benefits that come with living in such a highly trafficked area. However, living near D.C. also means year-round traffic congestion and high home prices compared to other parts of Virginia. Despite the cons, many chose to use long distance movers Virginia and relocate. And there are many reasons, so let’s jump to them.

You still need to know the cost of living when moving to Virginia on short notice

Living in Virginia can be a little more expensive than living in some other states. The cost of living is above the national average, and taxes are high here too. Even though it’s an important part of Virginia’s economy, the real estate market is very diverse, so you can find an affordable place to live in a rural area if that’s what you prefer. If you’re looking to save money on housing, Covington is your best bet. But if you prefer city life and the amenities that come with it, consider Richmond, the state capital and the cheapest metro area in Virginia.

…I was very pleased with the crew from Beltway Movers and how friendly and professional they were. They were on time right from the start and worked very hard to get the job done in a timely manner. The crew leader, Davis, was exceptional in assessing the move situation and packing the truck to make everything fit. Movers, Ed and Damion, were both hardworking and efficient. I would definitely recommend this crew to friends.

The staff was very helpful and quick to respond when the mover we signed a contract with failed to show up on move day. We have a large house with lots of nice furniture, glass cabinets, etc... Our crew was incredibly skilled and they managed to move our house without damage to our belongings or the properties. The crew was very professional, friendly, and fast on both ends of the move. I would use them because the same crew that loads your truck also unloads your truck and the furniture doesn't get handled an extra time switching freight carriers. I'm a very satisfied customer.
