Randy, our shop foreman and Andy, his assistant, have dedicated almost 50 years of combined experience to our Beltway Movers Fleet. Their mechanical talent helps us ensure that our movers will arrive safely to your home and support our claim “we have never missed a move day since our founding in 1961.” Unlike many other companies that contract out their repair services Beltway employs these 2 gentlemen in a company owned and operated fleet maintenance facility.
Randy, reports that every 4,500 miles these 4 mile per gallon work horses receive a complete inspection and tune up; a much needed service for trucks that travel 14,000+ miles each year in Washington traffic. These guys are masters at everything from regular maintenance to complete engine rebuilding. Randy says his only limitations are transmissions and steering boxes. Not only does each unit get mechanical TLC while visiting the shop, it also receives an equipment update. A brand new truck and equipment would easily cost over $100,000.00 When we say that we have fully equipped vans that includes moving blankets to protect your furniture, canvas bins to quickly collect odds and ends, dollies and hand trucks to maneuver long hall-ways, cartons for last minute packing and SmartPack® containers to protect your mirrors and artwork we mean it. Even piano moving equipment is on every van. When you let your move consultant know you have a flat panel television that needs to be kept upright during moving we’ll even include a flat panel crate for its safety. Randy and Andy are the faces behind the scene much like cooks in the kitchen. And just like the great chefs of fine dining, Beltway depends on them to help us deliver a dependable and enjoyable (moving) experience.
